We are seeking for our headquarter in Heidelberg a highly motivated

Data Integration/ETL Developer (m/f)

to increase our development capacities

Responsibilities: 

  • Design and implementation of Talend ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes around our company data warehouse (EDB)
    • Inbound: Integration of company internal and external complex data sources
    • Outbound: Data delivery for the company products
  • Development of process specific reports and validation procedures based on statistics, quality metrics and/or custom algorithms
  • Monitoring, maintenance and improvement of existing ETL processes
  • Report generation for other company departments (research, product management, product development, scientific field support, marketing and sales)
  • Support the Quality Assurance procedures

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ year working experience
  • Design and development of ETL processes (with Talend) would be a plus
  • Alternatively, experience in software development
  • Good SQL knowledge including optimization process (preferably with PostgreSQL)
  • Relational and dimensional database modeling knowledge
  • Domain knowledge around clinical applications, chemistry data, or bioinformatics (would be a plus)
  • Advocacy of sophisticated development environment (version control, unit tests, automation, code reviews, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
